Officials say a man is in critical condition after a steel plate fell on his leg | ABC6

NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — The North Kingstown Fire Department says a 59-year-old male was flown to a hospital after a steel plate fell on his leg.

He was flown to Rhode Island Hospital in a Life Flight helicopter, and police say he is in critical condition.

The incident occurred at Anvil International, which is a manufacturer of pipe fittings, pipe hangers, and piping support systems.

ABC 6 News crews saw police cruisers, an ambulance, and fire trucks at the scene.

North Kingstown Police Capt. John MacCoy told ABC 6 that the accident is currently being handled by the North Kingstown Fire Department.
